Emanuel Emegha joins Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace

Dutch striker Emanuel Esseh Emegha (20) has signed a five-year contract with Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace. Of Togolese origin through his father and Nigerian through his mother, Emegha, born in The Hague (Netherlands), has Dutch nationality.

Trained at Sparta Rotterdam, this athletic striker (1.95 meters), a Dutch U-20 international, first shone in the different youth categories before making his debut with the professional team at only 17 years old, during a match against Ajax Amsterdam.

After 39 appearances at the highest level in all competitions and a brief stint in Belgium (with Royal Antwerp), Emegha then joined SK Sturm Graz (Austria), a club for whom he played 27 league games (scoring nine goals) and five Europa League matches (one goal) last season.

“We welcome Emanuel. In the attacking sector, we were looking to invest in a promising young player, with great qualities. Emanuel is a lad we knew and who had already made a strong impression on us. We are very happy to welcome him to Strasbourg,” said President Marc Keller.

“We had scouted Emanuel on several occasions for two and a half years and again last spring during a tournament in Marbella, where he scored two goals against France with the Dutch U-20s,” confirms Loïc Désiré, head of Strasbourg’s recruitment unit. “He’s a complete attacking player, with size and mobility, a great eye for goal and good hold-up play and who still has a lot of room for improvement.”

“I am delighted and honoured to join Strasbourg and the prestigious French league,” said the newest Blue. “I can’t wait to get to work. I was able to talk to the managers and the coach, who told me about their ambitions for the team this season, and I immediately had a very good feeling. My objectives are clear: to score as many goals as possible to help Strasbourg and contribute what is being built. I heard very good things about the atmosphere at La Meinau. I look forward to meeting the supporters, scoring for them and making them happy!”
