Trained at the Racing Mutest Académie, the native of Saverne did all his apprenticeship at Strasbourg, from the age of 10 until he obtained his first professional contract in May 2021. An attacking left-back, Maxime Bastian was crowned champion with Stéphane Guédet’s U17 Nationals in 2017-2018. He was then loaned out and contributed to FC Annecy’s rise to Ligue 2 in 2021-2022 and then to the Savoyard club’s retention in the division in 2022-2023.
