Roland Weller has passed away

Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has learned of the passing of Roland Weller (84 years old), who was one of its iconic leaders, with deep sadness.

A recognized entrepreneur (he founded Alsacienne de restauration among other things), passionate about football, his life was colored green and blue, the colors of the clubs he was President of: SC Schiltigheim (from 1982 to 1994 and then from 1997 to 2012) and Racing (from 1994 to 1997). Under his direction, RCSA played in the French Cup final (1995), won the League Cup (1997) and played in two European Cup matches.

Very moved, Marc Keller paid tribute to his former President: “I have a heavy heart. Roland Weller was a man of values, a man of his word, honest and loyal, rigorous, and hard-working. An Alsatian. He loved life, football, and people. He was appreciated and respected. He was also a great President, who marked the history of Racing. He taught me a lot and I always had great admiration for him. I have a thought for his wife Isabelle, his family, and his loved ones, to whom I express my affection and support. And the whole club joins me in expressing their sincere condolences.
